Insensitivity threshold when a violation is triggered
If we imagine that the process variable will be near the trigger limit, the phenomenon of “bounce” (short transitions back and forth beyond the threshold line) will inevitably occur
In the process of communicating with different Customers, it turns out that not all of them understand the mechanism of triggering and disabling threshold violations in automated systems. To do this, I created this article explaining the essence of hysteresis in automation.
If we imagine that the process variable will be located near the trigger boundary, the phenomenon of “rattling" (short transitions back and forth beyond the threshold line) will inevitably occur. To get rid of the system from the “rattle” when approaching the border line, a “Dead zone”, “Dead zone” or “Hysteresis” (from Greek. hysteresis — lag, lag).
That is, when the corresponding threshold is crossed, the violation occurs without delay, and disappears only when the hysteresis zone is crossed.
