Connecting the pressure sensor to Owencloud

In this article, I wanted to share my experience of connecting Aries budget equipment to the OWENCLOUD cloud service.

I will describe the specifics of the connection.

We will connect the following equipment with OWENCLOUD:
1. ТРМ200-H2 OVEN – 4680 rub.
2. Pressure transducer ПД100-ДИ10 OWEN – 3420 rub.
3. Network gateway ПМ210 OWEN – 4980 rub.
4. Antenna external, АНТ-5 OWEN – 1072 rub.

Work order:

1. We select the appropriate tariff.

The instructions indicate that not all tariffs are suitable for modems and routers, they are designed to work in smartphones. In this task, the tariff from Megafon (Minimum without overpayments) is used, which limits the possibility of distributing traffic to devices. However, everything works.

2. Understanding connection diagrams.
The difficulty is that I found a lot of connection diagrams in the documentation. All of them did not answer a seemingly simple question: do I need an external power supply for a 4-20mA pressure sensor? I didn’t find any schemes with reference to the existing ones in TRM (11,12,13,14,15,16), I had to guess what was meant.
In fact, of course, you need an external 24V power supply, otherwise it will not be possible to assemble a current loop for a 4-20mA device. It's good that I still had resistors from MB110-8A modules of 50 ohms. Soldered them together. I noticed an illogicality: in the diagram, the numbering of the terminals is “Input x-1, x2, x3”, and according to the diagram in the module, it is indicated that you need to bridge “16-15” and “11-12”, but logic tells me that it’s better not to do this . Of course, it's bad that nowhere is it explicitly stated that an external power supply is required for 4-20mA circuits. In the scheme for using a passive 4-20mA sensor, “Up” is indicated, but this is not quite what I would like to see in the documentation. It is not clearly stated that an external power supply is required, but it is REQUIRED!

As a result, the connection is made:
- +24V must be connected to pin "1" of the pressure transducer;

- leg "2" from the pressure transducer must be connected to terminal 15 "TRM200-H2";
- terminal 14 "TRM200-H2" must be connected to the minus of the 24V power supply;
- between terminals 14 and 15 a soldered bridge of two 50 ohm precision resistors is connected.

3. We connect TPM200 OWEN to the software configurator.
You can also set parameters from the front panel, but this is rather inconvenient.
The configurator was installed and connected quickly, it was quite easy to create a connection through the AC4-M interface converter. I set the parameters of channel 1 to 4-20mA. I set the network address to 1, I did not change the rest of the parameters. I loaded it into the device and the values \u200b\u200bwent. Sensor range from 0 to 10mPa. It is clear that I can’t blow out a megapascal with my lungs, but you shouldn’t lose heart. The device began to fix small changes in the pressure value, which means that the circuit was assembled correctly.

4. We display the value of the device on the OPC server OWEN.

Since the device began to show the value on the front panel, therefore, we are testing the data transfer from the device via the Modbus RTU protocol to the OWEN OPC server. Here difficulties arose that required perseverance when reading the documentation.

Firstly, the device itself does not respond until the RTU protocol is set from the buttons. By default, the OWEN protocol is set and changes to these network parameters from the configurator are not available.

Secondly, the changes take effect only after a reboot, I came to this empirically.

Thirdly, the number of stop bits must be 2!!!

If you do not know all this in advance, then several hours of dancing with a tambourine are provided.

5. Setting up the PM210 OWEN gateway.
Since the protocol data has started to arrive, we proceed to setting up the PM210 gateway. The first thing that unpleasantly surprised me when I opened the lid was that the details fell out. It's a broken service button. Somehow, the mechanical fastening of this microswitch was not invented in the best way, but this is my subjective opinion. This gateway does not have its own configurator and is parameterized directly from the OWENCLOUD cloud. Reading the documentation, I found a discrepancy, since the number of stop bits: 1 for PM210 is not suitable for TRM200-H2, where this parameter is needed 2. So, we will reflash.

Important: PM210 flashing is only possible at 115200 baud

6. We connect TRM200 OWEN to the OWENCLOUD service

You need to be careful. TPM200 is present in the list of possible templates, but you need to scroll through the list. In the manual, the connection process is described, but not detailed enough.

From proposals to the production association OWEN:
1. Given that there is always a built-in power supply inside the device, it is puzzling that there is no + 24V terminal output. Why this has not been done is a mystery. As a result, the Customer who bought the product has a need to purchase an additional power source. Despite the fact that there are only two measuring channels in the TPM200, in my personal opinion, there should be power for the pressure transducers.
2. Scheme. It's hard for me to understand what the developer's goal was. There are several possible schemes in each device. Why not draw complete wiring diagrams for each application? Thermocouple, thermal resistance, pressure transducer. Make sure that the names of the terminals are explicitly numbered and do not have to think out (x-1).
